Central Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Marigold Asaan has lauded the energy transition agenda by the Ministry of Energy and has pledged the support of regional stakeholders as the transition team engages the country.
She made these remarks at a conference held at the Ridge Royal Hotel in Capecoast when the transition team called on the regional stakeholders.
At this conference, leader of the Ministry of Energy delegation, Deputy Energy Minister , Hon. William Aidoo explained the importance of Ghana moving towards a net-zero emission.
The Deputy Minister who is also the member of parliament for Afigya Kwabre South underscored the effects of fossil-fuel-based energy on the environment and the steps government has put in place to mitigate its effects.
“We have moved from the old ways of fossil energy to power our electricity generation plants, to the use of natural gas which is much cleaner and safer”, the deputy minister said. “ Renewable energy is also another component of the mix that we are championing to reach the net-zero we envisage”, he added.
The transition committee after Central region will move to the the Western-North region later this week and end with a final tour in the Oti region.
