The Ministry of Education has directed that Basic school education’s calendar be reverted back to a Trimester system.
Earlier this year, the Ministry released a Semester-systemed calendar for the current academic year specified for basic schools from kindergarten to Junior High School.
However, the newly introduced Semester system would not last as a few weeks into the year, the Ministry has ordered a reversion back to the former Trimester system.
“Following the directives to commence the Semester system, the Ministry has received representation from a section of public and key educational stakeholders to re-instate the Trimester system”
The letter as signed by press secretary, Felix A. Baidoo reads.
The Ministry also came up with the dates to make up the reinstated Trimester system’s calendar.
