After Sasa Kalajdzic sustains a long-term injury, Diego Costa will undergo a trial with Wolves.
After new acquisition Sasa Kalajdzic suffered an ACL injury this weekend, Wolves are likely to act swiftly to sign former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid attacker Diego Costa, who has been a free agent for the past eight months after leaving Atletico Mineiro.
This week, Wolves will evaluate Diego Costa.
Following the ACL injury sustained by recently signed Sasa Kalajdzic this weekend, Wolves aim to act swiftly to sign the former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid forward if he performs well.
Costa is a free agent who can be signed by Bruno Lage’s team outside of the transfer window.
Since the beginning of the summer, Wolves had been searching for a new striker. When they acquired Kalajdzic from Stuttgart for £15.5 million plus add-ons, they believed they had found the player.
The 6′ 7″ striker, however, sustained his long-term injury during Wolves’ 1-0 victory over Southampton in his debut, the Molineux club revealed in a statement on Sunday.
