The New Year saw a viral video of a young man firing arms in the air at A&C Mall.
The young man, identified as Flt. Sgt Nicholas Owusu Frimpong was believed to be firing gunshots into the air to welcome and celebrate New Year on the 31st of December.
The act caught the attention of the Ghana Police Service prompting their immediate reaction.
On 3rd January, the police announced the arrest of Flt. Sgt Owusu Frimpong in a public release.
The statement from the Ghana Police Service read;
“The suspect, Flt Sergeant Nicholas Owusu is currently detained by the Military Police while investigations continue.”
“As we make merry for the new year, we want to urge the public to be guided and desist from acts that compromise public safety and disorder.”
The statement continued.
