It was fortunate for Ghanaian players abroad over the weekend after returning to club football as the World Cup drew near.
While some of the strikers for the Black Stars had a terrific time, other forwards and midfielders were also performing well for their teams.

Athletic Bilbao thrashed UD Almeria in the Spanish La Liga with goals from Inaki Williams and another goal he also assisted in creating. After receiving help from his younger brother Nico Williams, the forward gave it back to him as Bilbao completed a 4-0 victory.
In the Bundesliga 2, Hamburg defeated Hannover 96 2-1 thanks to a goal from Ransford-Yeboah. After coming on after 70 minutes, the forward went on to score the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute.
In the North London derby on Saturday, Thomas Partey was named Man of the Match as Arsenal easily defeated Tottenham Hotspur. At the Emirates Stadium, Partey scored the game’s first goal before being replaced after 73 minutes.
In the Greece Super League on Saturday, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom also scored his first goal for PAS Lamia, who defeated Levadiakos 1-0. The forward was rejoining the squad after serving a ban.
Rio Ave defeated Santa Clara in the premier flight of Portugal despite Emmanuel Boateng playing only 52 minutes of the game.
In their Israeli Premier League match loss to Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Maccabi Netanya’s Patrick Twumasi scored straight off a corner kick.
Daniel-Kofi Kyereh scored his first goal for Freiburg in their 2-1 victory over Mainz 05 in their sixth Bundesliga match of the year. Since joining the team this year, the offensive midfielder has started three games for them.

In a 3-0 Austrian Bundesliga victory over Austria Wien on Sunday, Mohammed Fuseini scored after coming off the bench.
In their 2-1 victory over Paderborn, Darmstadt was led by a goal by Braydon Marvin Manu.
Over the weekend, Kwabena Owusu also scored as Qarabag overcame a deficit to defeat Neftci Baku.
In the English Premier League, Jordan Ayew contributed to Crystal Palace’s goal agains Chelsea. The Ghanaian gave Odsonne Edouard an assist to score the game’s first goal.
Youngster Kamal Sowah also provided an assist as Club Brugge defeated Mechelen 3-0 with ease.
Jojo Wollacott, Tariq Lamptey, Alidu Seidu, Alexander Djiku, Majeed Ashimeru, Mohammed Kudus, and a large number of others all had minutes.
