The motherland
A land of goodness and love
Joy and peace
In all the earth
We are privileged
To be called Ghanaians
Inasmuch as things
Do not really go well
Peace is a 10/10
We live in times
Times of increment
Fuel and the likes
Even in our prayers
We call on God to enlighten us
To strengthen our leaders
Despite the harshness
The hardness
The trials and temptations
Right the rising of the sun
To it’s setting down
We Ghanaians
Are facing alot
Yet we have the God
The God of our forefathers
Speaking for us
In this 65 years of Independence
May we rise to gold
May our leaders listen
May they do the bidden of the people
Our economy
Tends to enstil fear in the youth
Why would such a beauty
An amazing motherland
Have it’s 90 percent of the youth
Wanting to travel abroad
We are basically living
Living on money
Yet citizens can’t rejoice of wealth
The minimum wage
Isn’t something we are proud of
Let God arise
So that the leaders of this great and mighty country
Be given more enlightenment and wisdom
As to how to move this country forward
Even in times of hardship
May this country be ready to serve it’s citizens
The corruptions
The injustice
The pain and the rich getting rich
The poor dying in poverty
The less privileged
Rising to their death in pain and suffering
Oh our motherland!
When shall these end
The trauma
The anguish
Oh leaders! Can’t you hear the voice
The voice of those who toiled to put us in this Independence
They cry for a better Ghana
A Ghana where life would be easy
Indeed life is easy
Don’t make it hard and difficult for us
The people of the land
God is closer to the broken hearted
May this Independence
Truly bring us Independence
May our country be fixed
May our pleads be heard
For with our thumb
We put leaders in power
And with this same
thumb
We can change power
May they forget us not
When they come into power
May they remember
That as day and night
Changes without a word
To their various positions
They will fall like a wind
Like a rising tempest
They will come to nothing
Put the people first
Our forefathers won this Independence
For the people
May our plight be not but an induction to us
May this Independence
Truly make us independent
