According to The Sun, Manchester United and Chelsea are prepared to compete for the services of Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.
Prior to the transfer deadline, the Red Devils are eager to strengthen their assault, and it has recently come to light that negotiations for Matheus Cunha with Atletico Madrid are in progress.
The club is willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo to depart before the deadline, and according to The Sun, United might contend with the Blues for Aubameyang’s services.
Prior to joining Barcelona on a free transfer from Arsenal last winter, the Gabon star was taken into consideration by the Red Devils. They seem to be back in the transfer hunt.
However, the club will have a difficult time persuading the 33-year-old to choose them over the Blues since he will demand the guarantee of Champions League play if he departs.
Despite signing him for free last winter, Barcelona is looking to charge a high sum of between £21-24 million for his services. Losing him to Chelsea won’t hurt United’s transfer prospects.
